The Saluki was
the only dog accepted by Oriental religion, which held that dogs
were unclean beasts. The Saluki was held in high esteem, and seen as
a Divine Gift. Sensitive and intelligent, the Saluki should never be
trained using force or hard-handed methods. They are usually quiet
and don't bark unless there is a reason.
